This three-strand Southwestern talisman necklace features strands of freshwater pearls, wooden beads, brass, glass, small shells, vintage glass pearls and resin beads; all in southwestern shades of sand, muted reds, plums, bone and ivory. The focal drop is comprised of a forged steel connector bar wrapped in softly frayed vintage fabric with beaded wire and ribbon in beautiful shades of muted red and plum wound around and a chunk of agate dangling below. I added a hammered and hand stamped nickel silver tag with "begin" and added a carved bone bead and a beautiful spiral shell as drops. The final element of the focal drop is a wire connector bar stacked with creamy discs of puka and oyster shell with a batik bone bead dangling. The ends of the necklace are wrapped in bronze wire that I've given a lovely antiqued patina. It is a generous 32" long, with a 4" focal drop, and closes easily, and securely, with a handmade forged bronze clasp. If I describe a component as "handmade" in my description, it's made by me - - not purchased from another source.
